📣 Community Announcement – Culture Camp Update đź¦
Hawáa Gunalchéesh SFTHCC Family,
We are excited to share that our seals are officially on their way to Sacramento for our upcoming Traditional Foods Culture Camp.
From the waters to our community, this journey represents more than just food, it is about teaching, healing, and reconnecting to our ways of life. These seals will be used to teach our tribal citizens hands-on traditional knowledge, including:
• Processing and preparation
• Rendering oil and making cracklings
• Cooking traditional foods
• Honoring and respecting what has been provided
This is what food sovereignty looks like in action—bringing our traditions into our urban community and passing them on to the next generation.
We invite all of our tribal citizens to come be part of this experience. Whether you are learning for the first time or reconnecting, there is a place for you.
